We often hear “Do it From Scratch”.
It means that you will do it from the very beginning, without relying on previous related works, uniquely, with nothing similar done before.
You definitely have faced such situations in your career, whenever you had a problem, a challenge, or when grabbing a new opportunity and you had to do it from scratch.
So, You started to dig deeper to find out the cause, to propose solutions, and all that was for building new achievements and making new records.
Even in life, when the unavoidable touches you, you react to rebound and start to plan to overcome it, you even try to anticipate similar future situations and find controls for potential threats.
Wow!!! How hard we work to be successful, winners, survivors. This huge effort we make by starting from scratch is really a thing. We are clever, we are achievers, we are worriers and we are invincible!!!
But, what if this zero was your happiness? Can you rebuild it from scratch? Can you do it?
How many times have you thought that there is no more room for you when it comes to being happy, enjoying life and relationships again? How many times have you felt that you are trying to collect fallen pieces of broken you? How many times have you found it hard to start over again with people or things that make you happy?
When it comes to our hearts, we give up right after the first pain or the first failure. This fear of being hurt, disappointed, and abused again, makes us worry about trying something new, such as a new love, a new hobby, a new friendship, a new connection, or a new commitment that could make us happy.
This fear leaves us with lots of “What if”:
What if I failed? What if I got hurt? What if it was a waste of time? What if it cost too much, What if it wasn’t worth it? What if…
And then we come to the decision of staying on the safe side and clinging to our comfort zone without trouble.
After being deceived by a friend, cheated or abused by a partner, controlled or abandoned by a parent, unfairly treated by a boss, stabbed in the back by coworkers, you feel like you have to start again and you hesitate to do it. You are afraid of repeating the same mistakes and feeling disappointed.
Therefore, before giving up, consider that:
The happiness you are seeking might be hidden in the unknown, and you will never find out unless you try.
If it worked, you will be happy, and if not, you will still be happy, but why? Because you will discover then, that you endured it again and you were courageous, although you got hurt. Yes, you did it, you moved towards your fears.
You will also find out that you are no longer the same person that you were before. You are more mature, more experienced, and more self-conscious, especially when it comes to what you need and what really matters.
But most of all, you will discover that you were not alone and you will never be. So you will make it into the unknown by keeping your hand into the Hand of God.
Try to put assumptions, doubts, and uncertainties aside, just focus on triggering your sleeping faith, so you can boost your enthusiasm and start the new process. And remember, you will always have the opportunity of rebuilding your life the way you wanted.
How much do you feel proud of yourself when you create something from scratch and it turns out to be a piece of art? So how will it be if you apply it in any relationship, the new one or the old forgotten and spoiled one?
Imagine how many valued people you will meet. How many good relationships will be built and may last for eternity?
Imagine how it will make you feel valued as well, by being treated, heard, appreciated, noticed, respected, and loved.
Some journeys make us discover ourselves and what we are capable of, others make us discover how beautiful the world is and how much beauty is hidden in some places.
Yes, the world is a happy place to live in. Happiness can sometimes be hidden in undesirable, unexplored, and unexpected places.
For some people, this scratch can be a Passover from death to life, a turning point.
As Dr. Seuss said:
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose”.
I would like to add to it:
“You also have a heart in your chest.
You can do it, so do your best”.
